2019 State Conference

The Bus SA 2019 State Conference will be held this year at the Adelaide Convention Centre, on Saturday 18 May 2019, with the theme “Moving People Integration: What does SA need?”

We have designed a conference program to inform you about Government initiatives, develop your knowledge about your business, and invigorate your vision for the future of our industry.

We are delighted that both our Minister for Transport, The Hon Stephan Knoll MP and Shadow Minister, Tom Koutsantonis MP will deliver keynote addresses at the conference – a great opportunity to gain valuable insight into the vision for transport in South Australia.  We hope that they will both stay for the remainder of the session and participate in discussions.

The conference opening session will set the scene: The State of SA: What does the future hold?, presented by Dr Kristine Peters, who is an Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of South Australia.  We are also pleased to be featuring a session on Technology Driving Mobility in SA which will profile a range of experts in this field.  These include Sue Wiblin from Keolis Downer, who will discuss Demand Responsive Transport (DRT) in practice where she will share experiences from around Australia, and BusVic’s Chris Lowe, who will share his experience with Technology in Application through Get There DRT and how we might learn from this to benefit our businesses.

The regional focus session includes the well-versed John Devney from GTA Consultants talking about why to improve regional public transport and a presentation on the successful outcomes (and lessons) from the Moving People Pirie project in regional SA.

As if that weren’t enough (!), our program also features vital technical sessions including a presentation from the NHVR on the effect of Chain of Responsibility, and how they may affect your business, and Matt Wilson from Pitcher Partner on There is no future in predicting the future.  These will be both valuable and informative sessions.

As ever we are enormously grateful to all our Partners for their investment in the South Australian Bus Industry – without them this Conference would not be possible.

Each year, the BusSA Conference generates important discussion for the industry as a whole around the key issues that are affecting our State and our businesses.

We look forward to seeing you there!
